Bali: a marine paradise for scuba diving and snorkeling

Being a tropical island, Bali has beautiful beaches, but even more amazing marine life. It is the absolute paradise for those you like scuba diving and snorkeling. Many tourists all around the world visit Bali every year to admire the rich coral reefs and the various tropical fishes. Allow yourself swim along with unseen kind of fishes and witness an undiscovered Garden of Eden. The experience is unbelievable and is a must for everyone visiting Bali.

Best time to scuba dive or snorkel is the dry season.

During the dry season from April to October is the best time to do scuba diving or snorkeling. In that period the sea is calmer. That means that you will have better visibility. The water is cleaner and more transparent. From April to September many fish visit Bali such as sharks and sunfish. On the other hand in the wet season there are too many rainfalls that make it difficult to go diving or snorkeling. Furthermore at that period strong currents appear that apart of the fact that the water is not so clear, it is also dangerous. You might be drifted away without realizing it.


Bali scuba diving resorts

There are several site where you can scuba dive or snorkel. Bali is full of beautiful places waiting to be explored. Some of them are the following:

    1) Menjangan Island, the Marine National park,
    2) Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, two side to side islands. Not recommended for beginners because of their strong currents.
    3) Tulamben, with black volcanic sand,
    4) Amed where you must go very early in the morning (before 9:30) or you’ll be drifted away by strong currents,
    5) Blue Lagoon mostly for snorkeling and 6) Basir Butih, a non tourist site difficult to be reached.

If you don’t know how to dive and snorkel, don’t worry. There are plenty places where you can have special courses ( Padi for example)  and take your scuba certification for Bali scuba masters ! All you have to do is choose one. As far as the equipment is concerned is given to you by the store that you will choose for your diving trip.
